BUILDING A PROPER SOURCING PLAN

Where do you begin to navigate the hunt for talent, especially when all your competitors are going after the same candidates on the same networks? What steps do you take to ensure your process is the most efficient? In this session Shally Steckerl taps into the most vexing challenges sourcers and recruiters face on a regular basis, show you why he thinks recruiting should operate more like an Intelligence Agency, explains his step by step sourcing roadmap and demonstrates how you can refine it to your needs. Join us to better understand where you can efficiently find the most in-demand talent.

You will learn: How to create a customized sourcing roadmap built for your org’s hiring needs Techniques to modify and optimize your talent team’s sourcing strategies How to make your sourcing more programmatic Setting boundaries and how to appropriately push back with hiring managers Why more activity doesn’t always lead to better results The epidemic of poor training in sourcing and recruiting means having a roadmap is critical because, without one, sourcers easily get sidetracked due to the overwhelming amount of information available.

A sourcing plan lets sourcers and recruiters learn which sources and sourcing methods are more efficient or favorable for particular types of roles. That way, productive methods can be repeated in the future, methods that waste time are eliminated, and we’re able to gain time to experiment with new techniques in an organized, scientific manner. If you source without a plan, you’re likely not taking advantage of all your resources, so much so that tools, sourcers, and recruiting destinations are almost entirely ignored. With a roadmap, sourcers can save time and navigate the sources available to them with little overlap. most common mistakes sourcers make

THE ART OF EFFECTIVE APPROACH

There’s plenty of speakers out there who agree finding candidates is no longer as challenging as getting there attention. In this interactive session we will focus on exactly that – writing messages that can will want to reply to.

MASTERING THE BOOLEAN MONSTER

We talk less and less about Boolean but in many European countries it is just picking up as a widespread searching method. Until we need to use, why not use it as proficiently as possible? Attend this workshop to understand where is Boolean effective and where is not, how to find fitting keywords and organize them into strings, and how not to outsmart yourself – all while thinking about multilingual and multi country environments. Bring your examples and challenges and let the group help you out!

NEGOTIATING YOUR WAY TO SOURCING SUCCESS

What good is finding talent if you can’t convince them to reply to your messages or get them interested in your opportunity? How do you sell the benefits of sourcing to various stakeholders? How do you sell your own value to your company? Just about anything a sourcer does requires some form of negotiation. Whether it is trying to persuade candidates to move, asking for a raise, or selling a new project, sourcers need to master the fundamentals of negotiation to be more successful.

Enter Simon Horton, the world’s leading expert and best selling author on negotiation. Combining story telling and practical hands-on advice Simon will dissect the concept and fundamentals of negotiation. He will explore negotiation secrets using pop psychology, social engineering and proven truths about human behaviour. You’ll never be a world class CyberSleuth, unless you learn the easy magic of Natural Language Search. Forget complex Boolean logic and advanced syntax, these search hacks work in any database, and will have you finding people you have right under your nose and never even knew existed in your own ATS, on resume databases, and even people you never knew you were missing on LinkedIn.

RESEARCH BEYOND KEYWORD SEARCH FOR FOOL-PROOF SOURCING.

Sourcing for a requisition without doing the proper research is the #1 mistake that most staffing professionals make. There are many ways to improve your understanding of a job requisition that go beyond the buzzword and keywords.  The better you understand the req, the better your search becomes. Then you will have a higher number of possible candidates to choose from.  A hiring manager may say “I need this exact experience and nothing else”.  But you can help yourself if you research correctly, look at other profiles, and get ideas for other keywords to use in a search.

In this session, master sourcer Mark will dissect the research process behind sourcing and recruiting.  He will examine methods that expand the reach of searches while also keeping them focused and targeted.  He will explain why keywords and titles are less important than what a candidate actually DOES.  By following the steps presented, you will be able to find more candidates that fit your hiring manager’s requirements.  And ultimately, you will become a more valuable partner in the hiring process.

Highlights:
– Researching beyond keyword search
– Sourcing beyond req
– Understanding the competitive landscape
– Leveraging the hiring manager in your research

USING SOFTWARE SALES TACTICS & STRATEGIES IN SOURCING

Software sales is one of the most highly competitive and cut-throat businesses around. To excel you need to be innovative, willing to experiment and be ready to fail. Most importantly be ready to start from square one, on a regualr basis.  Software sales have a lot in common with sourcing.  In this session Mark will borrow heavily from software sales practices and apply them to sourcing. He will particularly focus on the tools and technologies (both free and paid) sales professional use in winning new converts. Mark will share practical lessons on how sales tactics can be applied in sourcing. No wonder many call sourcing is sales.

Highlights:
– Software sales and it’s relevance to sourcing
– Sourcing lessons from software sales
– Tools and tech in software sales to apply in sourcing

MINING FOR FACTS ABOUT TALENT – TOOL & TACTICS FOR THE MODERN SOURCER

Advances in technology continues to change how people are being identified and assessed by sourcers. Finding people is less a challenge than it is finding out the real stories about people.  In many instances, what you see or hear is not always what’s real, and for sourcers what’s real and accurate is crucial.

In this session the world leading open source researcher will explore the various new ways to do a proper background check on people you find on the Internet. Are they real? Is what they say true? Henk will show fool-proof tactics on how to find the real truth about people online.

Highlights
– Background check on steriods

DATA AUTOMATION TO PUSH SOURCING TO THE NEXT LEVEL

At its fundamental core, sourcing is about data – its collection, management and interpretation. Those who have a better control of data have more fruitful sourcing experience. However, data is fickle and ever growing; it needs constant refreshing and management.

In this session data geek Aaron will delve deep into the world of data manipulation and automation. Changes in website layout, function or terms are constantly shaking things up. What if you could get data right from the source fed directly into your spreadsheet?  Aaron will look into scenarios sourcers faced with explosion of data.  He will show how Google sheets and Blockspring can supercharge sourcing efforts using low and no cost APIs.

This session is an immersion into the world of data and how to make sense it all. It is a journey into a territory which for the brave can open a new world of sourcing productivity.

RETHINKING TALENT PIPELINES IN A WORLD OF PLENTY

A talent pipeline only exists when you know who is cold, who is warm and who is ‘hire ready’. Until now the only way to understand this has been the old-fashioned, limited exec search model; keeping in touch with your total addressable market individually by email, by phone or over coffee.

Technology now enables sourcers to do this much faster and more effectively at scale; to nurture people on a hyper-personalised basis and to monitor all of their interactions with your emails, landing pages, career site, social media and more.

Adam will explain:

–          Why marketing has become the Death Star of sourcing

–          Why spearfishing is massively more effective than net fishing

–          How to limit your reliance on ‘The Dependency Triplets’ (job boards, social media and staffing agencies)

–          Segmenting your content to nurture people at the awareness, education and consideration stages

–          What channels, content formats, days of the week, times of the day and subject headings work best

EMPOWERING SOURCERS TO MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR SKILLS & PERSONALITY

There’s a lot of different approaches to sourcing, from online research, through phone sourcing to networking at events.  However, in order to get the best results, sourcers need to be able to choose an approach that’s best suited to their own skills and personality. Giving them the freedom to do so will keep them motivated to deliver and try new ways when the proven methods fail.
But how do you allow the sourcing team this freedom without giving up control of the sourcing outcomes? How do you ensure consistency in a team built of sourcers with different skill sets? These are some of the questions Kasia will answer based on her experience training many sourcing teams of different sizes and managing the biggest sourcing community in Poland over the past year.
Highlights:
– Building awareness of different sourcing approaches and techniques
– Promoting authenticity without compromising consistency
– Empowering sourcers’ personal development
